Dollars donated to CONCERN help us meet the diverse needs of our children and families. All proceeds from CONCERN’s various fundraising efforts are allocated into one of four separate and distinct funds.
Where does the donated money go?
- Special Needs Fund The Special Needs Fund was created to enhance the quality of life of the children by helping them participate in many of the traditional experiences of family and community life. Typical requests fall into the following seven main categories: education, camp, recreation, lessons, excessive medical/dental, personal care kits, and life books.
- STAR (Supporting Teens After Release) Fund The STAR Fund is named for those teens “aging-out” of the foster care system to independent living. A client application process is used for the purposes of providing dollars for post-secondary education, training and employment necessities, and housing expenses.
- SHARE Fund The SHARE Fund is a discretionary fund raised by CONCERN sites for CONCERN sites/programs that allows for specific site activities. The primary purpose of this fund is to provide for meaningful experiences for the children and youth in care.
- CONCERN Fund The CONCERN Fund is a discretionary fund giving CONCERN the flexibility to meet the rapidly changing needs we encounter at the present as well as in the future. Funding would improve CONCERN’s capacity building abilities and physical infrastructure including program expansion, facility expansion and updating and to meet training needs and technology advances. All contributions are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
