CTUB - Coatesville Expands Capacity with Renovation
CONCERN Treatment Unit for Boys - Coatesville Campus currently is undergoing
a renovation and expansion project to increase its capacity to 24 clients and to enhance its educational, recreational and administrative areas to continue its quality service to the young men in its care.
One of two CTUB facilities operated by
CONCERN, the Coatesville Campus opened
in 1988 and has consistently operated at full
capacity over its 21-year history. With a current
average of 21 referrals per quarter, CTUB -
Coatesville clients face a three to four week wait
for admission.
For the current project, the renovation and
expansion includes demolition in the dorm building of the present dining room, digging out beneath this area for a basement, rebuilding a larger dining room and adding another floor on top of the new dining area to accommodate additional clients.
The additional bedroom and bathroom space will allow CONCERN to expand to a capacity of 24 clients. An additional 2,650 square feet will be added to the dorm building, or an increase of 33 percent.
The expansion/renovation to the administrative/educational building will include the addition of educational space on the first floor that will enhance classroom size to accommodate additional clients. It also will allow for the separation of computer lab work and routine classwork into two different classrooms. The administrative office space expansion/renovation will create needed additional office space for staff and a larger conference room area. This building will experience an additional 2,350 square feet, an increase of 47 percent.
