Bass Federation casts a line

for kids

Through the extra efforts of our staff in the Susquehanna Valley regional office in Lewisburg, in conjunction with the Pennsylvania Bass Federation District II of New Columbia, Pennsylvania, an educational and therapeutic fishing project took place for the clients in CONCERN’s care. The event was attended by nearly 160 people, including children and youth from the Susquehanna Valley regional office, the Wellsboro branch office, and the Life Skills Institute in Williamsport.

The “CONCERN4Kids Day” was held on Saturday, June 7, 2008 at the Montour Preserve Lake in Washingtonville, Pennsylvania. Fishing rods and t-shirts were given to each person who attended. Event highlights included boat rides for the foster children and the opportunity to fish from shore. Other activities for the day included an educational segment on amphibians, reptiles and other animals in the Agricultural Building. A great time of fun, learning, and camaraderie was had by all.
